Splendid Vanilla Ice Cream Cake with Blackberry Sauce and a Pastry Affair

We just couldn’t leave well enough alone.

Sure, the Malted Ice Cream Cake with Blackberry Topping would be good. But what if, just say, we mashed it up with the vanilla recipe from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at Home instead? What would happen?

Pretty much as you’d expect might happen when Nicole’s in the kitchen with a camera (that’s the lullaby I’ll sing to my kids one day, I know, I kno-ow.) And when you’re using one of the finest vanilla ice cream recipes in the universe… you get a truly spectacular ice cream cake, redolent with blackberries.

We’re playing pastry chef today! The lovely Kristin has invited us to post on her blog this week so that’s what we did. (With glee. With gleeful glee.) See everything come together and get the whole story/recipe for our Splendid Ice Cream Cake with Blackberry Sauce at Pastry Affair.

And, in case you’ve got some time and want to dive head first into the treasure trove that is Pastry Affair, here’s a few of my personal favorite recipes from her site:

French Silk Pie

Peanut Butter and Jelly Muffins

S’Mores Ice Cream Sundae

Raspberry Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee
