As promised! Some Kitchen Stories has been live for a few months now and everyone has been so wonderful- thank you so much for reading and for your lovely comments; we read every single one. (Ok, so I squeal and clap over every single one. I can’t help it!)

But why just say thank you when we can give you free stuff? I know, right? So much better.

SKS Fall Giveaway

Grand Prize: Starting right now, you can win

– this lovely Atom Art Bowl from Anthropologie

– a year’s subscription to Saveur magazine (or, if you already have Saveur a comparably priced magazine of your choosing. Long live magazines.)

and

– one of my  favorite annual anthologies Best Food Writing 2011 featuring stories from Gabrielle Hamilton, Steve Holt (!), Christopher Kimball and many more.

Dates: October 6 to October 14 (contest ends 12am EST on the 14th)

How to Enter: I need more character names so leave a comment on this post with your potential character name for a future story, any name you want (but not, like, Anderson Cooper or anything). Break out the Baby Name Books. Think WWGD (What would Gwyneth do?) One comment per person unless…

Extra Entries: Share a link to Some Kitchen Stories (http://somekitchenstories.com/) on Twitter and then tell us you shared us in your subsequent comment. Not on Twitter? Become an email or RSS subscriber and then let us know you just joined up in the comments!  These additional comments can greatly help your chances of winning.

We have a Winner!   Winner will be selected on Friday, October 14 using random.org, a random generator. The winner will be notified by email and will have 48 hours to respond. If the winner doesn’t respond to the winning notification email, another winner will be chosen.

Boring/Horrible Disclaimers: You must be 18+ and be a US citizen. We will only be shipping within the continental United States.  SKS reserves the right to disallow comment submissions for the following reasons:

  • Any rude or obscene comments will not be approved.
  • All spam comments will not be approved.

No purchase is necessary to enter. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. I’m not even sure what you would purchase to win, honestly. Wait, was someone going to send me money to increase their chances? Maybe I should rethink this disclaimer.

Long live magazines, indeed! I’m glad I’m not the only one who still loves reading a magazine that’s made of paper.

I like the classic older names. Blanche is good, as suggested above. How about Ruby? That’s been one of my favs since I was a kid. My grandmother had a friend with that name. Another idea, “Eva”. Good luck. I enjoy your non-scary stories :)!
